GC Related Entities
The CUNY Graduate Center Related Entities are separate entities within The Graduate Center, comprising of:
- The Graduate Center Foundation, Inc. (the “Foundation”)
- Graduate Center Foundation Housing Corporation (the “Corporation”)
- CUNY Graduate School and University Center Auxiliary Enterprises Corporation
- GSUC Child Development and Learning Center
Generally, these related entities are tax exempt under the Internal Revenue Code section 501 c (3) and are established for charitable & educational purposes. Each entity is affiliated with the University, with the relationship between the entity, the Graduate Center and the University well defined.

The Graduate Center Foundation, Inc. (the “Foundation”), incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation in New York State on June 22, 1994 (Development Office), is wholly dedicated to supporting the mission, objectives and goals of The Graduate Center through outreach and educational programs. The “Foundation” solicits and receives donations from individuals, private and family foundations and corporations. It holds invests and administers funds and makes expenditures for the benefit of The Graduate Center. Some of the specific functions of The Graduate Center Foundation include providing support for The Graduate Center, its faculty and students, and promoting and sponsoring, and carrying out educational, scientific, cultural, charitable and related activities and objectives, and to enter into contractual relationships that are appropriate to the purposes of the Corporation.
Incorporated May 12, 2000, the mission of The Graduate Center Auxiliary Enterprises is to promote and cultivate educational and social relations among the Graduate Center community by providing certain auxiliary services and making expenditures for the benefit of the Graduate Center Community.
Graduate Center Foundation Housing Corporation (the “Corporation”), formed in 2008, to foster and enable the achievement and fulfillment of education goals of students enrolled at the City University of New York Graduate School and University Center by creating affordable housing for the use of such graduate students and their families while these students complete their studies. The Graduate Center Foundation Housing Corporation is a subsidiary of the Graduate Center Foundation, Inc.
The Child Development and Learning Center, Inc. was incorporated on February 22, 2000 for the purposes of establishing, maintaining and operating a day care center at The Graduate Center for dependent children, of registered, matriculated GC students and, as space permits, for children of non-matriculated students, faculty and staff of the GC. The GSUC Child Development and Learning Center, Inc. began its operation on September 5, 2000.
