William E. Macaulay Honors College is a flagship program for high-achieving students at The City University of New York. Located on the Upper West Side, Macaulay offers an exceptional academic and co-curricular environment for engaged and motivated students, who come from all parts of New York and around the world. Macaulay students enroll in one of seven CUNY colleges (Baruch, Brooklyn, City, Hunter, Lehman, Queens, and Staten Island). Through the unique Macaulay Advising Program (MAP), each student develops a coordinated, individualized academic program that includes research, global learning, graduate and professional mentoring, community engagement, and close faculty-student collaboration.

 The Macaulay Honors College is seeking part-time assistance of an Assistant Research Analyst.  The Assistant Research Analyst will report to the Director of Enrollment Management and the Director of Institutional Research. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Institutional Assistant Research Analyst will assists with the collection, management, analysis and reporting of institutional data. The Assistant Research Analyst will utilize databases necessary as they relate to reporting of retention, academic assessment, enrollment management, and planning activities. He/she will assist with data collection, analysis and reporting related to overall institutional effectiveness.  Duties will include:

·         Collect and manage admissions data and create reports for Enrollment Management - Perform daily maintenance, manipulation, retrieval, extraction, downloading, uploading and cleansing of data for reporting Enrollment Management Data.

·         Assemble data from various educational, economic, sociological, technological, political and demographic sources pertaining to the trends and issues relevant to enrollment and academic planning.

·         Assists in the preparation of surveys and reports.

·         Assist with Enrollment Management events, i.e. open house

·         Assist with general office duties

·         May perform other duties as assigned     

·         May assist with student recruitment.

·         May perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

·         High School Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred with an emphasis in mathematics/statistics,  social sciences, economics or related field.

·         Excellent oral/written communication skills and interpersonal skills

·         Data analysis background and working knowledge of essential social research and planning methodologies

·         Advanced knowledge of excel

·         Advanced knowledge of databases

·         Knowledge of statistics

·         Advanced Understanding of research methodology

·         Knowledge of SPSS or SAS or other statistical software

·         Experience with survey design

·         Interest in Higher Education focus on Institutional Research and Enrollment Management

·         Ability to evaluate existing techniques and procedures and to assist in devising new techniques and procedures.

·         Considerable knowledge of research techniques and computer applications.

·         Database management skills

·         Programming skills a plus

Salary Range

$14-16 per hour

Hours

20 hours per week
