Email

Through Microsoft Exchange's Outlook Web Access (OWA), users can access email services, calendar items, tasks, contacts, set message rules, and change your Graduate Center network account password. You may access any mailbox to which you have permissions through OWA and can even recover email deleted within the past 7 days. Please note, the features of OWA are limited when using web browsers other than Internet Explorer.

Remote Computing

Remote Computing is a service that provides access for the Graduate Center community to many academic software titles as well as personal and share drives.

CUNY Blackboard

Blackboard is a web-based courseware management system for use by instructors and students. Instructors create virtual classrooms by posting course materials which may include documents, presentations, and audio and video files. Students may access these learning materials, participate in interactive online instruction, and create their own research projects.

Surveys

The web based survey service Opinio allows Graduate Center faculty and staff to easily design, publish, and manage online surveys. To utilize this service, interested parties must email the Help Desk to request a user account. Students wishing to conduct online surveys through Opinio must contact and gain approval from their departments.

Document Management (WFS)

Web File Services (WFS) is a web-based file storage system that provides the following services and features:

  • File Storage
  • File Sharing 
  • Secure storage of documents and media files
  • Collaborative document management
  • Access with your GC network username and password

Website Services

Website Services is a platform that allows Graduate Center staff, faculty, and students to easily create websites for a variety of purposes including conference and group sites, CVs and personal sites, and general interest blogs. Using their Graduate Center user name and password, interested parties will gain instant access to a variety of themes, plugins and templates to begin building their website.

Listserv

Listserv software enables people who belong to a list to send messages to the group without typing a series of addresses into the message header. Users subscribe to a listserv, and they are able to comment on related topics and receive comments and responses from other list subscribers, all by e-mail.
