The book is intended for pre- and in-service teachers, as well as for others with a role in expediting success in the lives of inner-city schoolchildren. Beverly Falk is professor and head of the program in early childhood education at the school of education at the City College of New York and a professor of urban education at the Graduate Center, CUNY.
