Cindi Katz is professor of psychology and women’s studies at the Graduate Center. Her book Growing up Global: Economic Restructuring and Children's Everyday Lives received the 2004 Meridian Award for outstanding scholarly work in geography from the Association of American Geographers. In 2003-4 she was a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, and last year was the Diane Middlebrook and Carl Djerassi Visiting Professor of Gender Studies at the University of Cambridge. Her current work addresses the cultural politics of contemporary US childhood as spectacle.
