Verdi and Wagner were both born in 1813, but they redefined the world of opera in strikingly different ways. Opera scholars William Berger, Mitchell Cohen, Gwen D’Amico, and Helen Greenwald join John Matteson, deputy director of the Leon Levy Center for Biography, to discuss the lives and works of these two great music revolutionaries, in a celebration of their bicentennial year.
