The intertwining sounds of Sissoko's kora, a 21-stringed lute-harp, and Segal's cello create subtle yet striking music that flows from African traditions and European classical roots—chamber music for the 21st century. Sissoko, who comes from Mali, is one of the new generation's top players of the kora and has performed with a wide variety of musicians, from African icons (Toumani Diabate) to blues masters (Taj Mahal), to Italian minimalist composers (Ludovico Einaudi); Segal explored new musical realms with the French trip-hop group Bumcello and in collaborations with Sting and Elvis Costello.
