Faculty Book: Zdravko Blažekovic and James R. Cowdery

Zdravko Blažekovic and James R. Cowdery, eds.

Liber Amicorum
(Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale/RILM, 2009)

Despite their acknowledged importance, music Festschriften have been relatively inaccessible to researchers. RILM has addressed this absence with an annotated and indexed bibliography of 3,881 essays on musical topics from Festschriften published before RILM’s bibliographic directories began in 1967. Reflecting the currents of history from the mid-nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century, the volume includes topics such as ethnomusicology, the rise and fall of Nazism, and serialism. Zdravko Blažekovic (adjunct Ass’t. Prof., GC, Music ) serves the GC’s Barry S. Brook Center for Music Research and Documentation as director of the Research Center for Music Iconography (RCMI) and executive editor of RILM. James R. Cowdery is adjunct assistant professor of music at the Graduate Center.
