  • Press Release: 3 Days/27 Companies = 1 Off-Broadway Prelude Weekend

    The second annual Prelude to Off-Broadway weekend will once again enable audiences to preview the city's vibrant Off-Broadway scene in just three days at one place. From October lst to 3rd, the CUNY Graduate Center's Martin E. Segal Theatre Center will team up with the Alliance of Resident Theatres (A.R.T)/New York to host twenty-seven exciting and diverse companies presenting free samples of their work. In addition, the weekend will offer three panel discussions, beginning with one on September 30, plus a series of breakout sessions.

    The CUNY Graduate Center Political Science Program and Princeton University Press will launch their new, collaborative, Public Square book-speaker series on October 14 with a talk by New York Times columnist Jeff Madrick. Madrick will speak on "Changing Times: The Purpose of Government." The talk will begin at 6:30 pm in the Skylight Conference Room at the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue (34th Street).     Attire donned by Renaissance nobility comes to life in “Splendors of the Renaissance: Princely Attire in Italy,” an exhibition opening at the Art Gallery of The Graduate Center on March 11. Featuring 15 spectacular reconstructions of courtly clothing from the late 15th to the early 17th century, each costume is displayed adjacent to a reproduction of the portrait in which it appears.
