David Monaghan is a Ph.D. Candidate, Department of Sociology, Graduate Center, CUNY. His areas of interest include the role of education in socioeconomic stratification, welfare regimes and their relationship to family formation, globalization and urban change, demography, and quantitative methods. He is currently planning a dissertation on the determinants, meaning, and outcomes of higher education for non-traditionally aged students, and has presented work at the Eastern Sociological Society, American Sociological Association, and Population Association of America conferences.
