Sou Hyun Jang is a Ph.D. Candidate, Department of Sociology, Graduate Center, CUNY. Her research interests include international migration, transnational health care, sociology of education and methodology. She holds an M.A. in Sociology from Columbia University and B.A. in Sociology from Korea University. Her dissertation investigates how socioeconomic status, family relations, social networks, governmental policies and transnational ties are related to the experience of middle-aged and elderly Korean immigrants’ medical tourism to their homeland. She has co-authored articles in both US and Korean publications.
