Art History Program awarded Grant by Korean Promotion Services (KPS)
The Korean Promotion Services (KPS) awarded the Ph.D. Program in Art History a grant of more than $60,000 in late 2011 to support the teaching of Korean art over a period of three years. In winter 2012, an intensive seminar on Korean art was offered by Dr. Youngsook Pak, a renowned international scholar based at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London who made use of the outstanding collection of Korean art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In the coming years, courses in contemporary Korean and Asian art, as well as in Korean architecture and urbanism will also be offered. In addition, the KPS grant will support the expansion of CUNYdid to include Korean art and architecture.
