Research Interests: 19th and Early 20th Century Literature, German Cinema, German/Jewish Literary Relations

Tamara Evans is a scholar in modern German literature, and has written books on Robert Walser and Conrad Ferdinand Meyer as well as numerous articles on nineteenth and twentieth century German literature. She was co-director of a National Endowment for the Humanities grant to revise the curriculum in German within the CUNY system ("Designing, Teaching, Training, and Re-Training: A Model Curriculum in German from Zero Knowledge of the Language to PhD Orals" 1995-1997). She has received various fellowships and awards for her research and teaching.  Evans is presently the Dean of Arts and Humanities at Queens College.
