Description

Beatriz Jaguaribe teaches comparative literature, urban and media studies at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro’s School of Communication. She has held visiting positions at The New School, Princeton, Stanford, and, in 2012, New York University’s Andrés Bello chair. She is the author of, among others, O Choque do Real: estética, mídia, cultura (2007), Mapa do Maravilhoso do Rio de Janeiro (2001), Fins de Século: Cidade e Cultura no Rio de Janeiro (1998). In 2004, she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship.
