Alumni News: Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures and Languages

Byrne book coverSusan Byrne (Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian Literatures, 2004), assistant professor of Spanish at Yale University, has authored Law and History in Cervantes’ Don Quixote (University of Toronto Press, 2012). Byrne demonstrates how Miguel de Cervantes synthesized the debates surrounding the two most authoritative discourses of his era—those of law and history into a new aesthetic product, the modern novel.

Nechama Kramer-Hellinx (Spanish, 1988) published an article in Hebrew: “Rabbi Menahem Shemuel Halevy: From Hamadan, Persia to Jerusalem,” ABA 6 (Winter 2012).
