Professor Faber is the author of many studies and articles investigating Jewish history in America.

Professor Faber is the author of A Time for Planting: The First Migration, 1654-1820, which is the first volume of The Jewish People in America, published by Johns Hopkins University Press.

His most recent work is titled:
Jews, Slaves, and the Slave Trade: Setting the Record Straight, published by New York University Press.

For six years he served as editor of the journal, American Jewish History, the oldest journal in the country devoted to the study of ethnicity.
