Distinguished Professor Stuart Ewen’s book Captains of Consciousness: Advertising and the Social Roots of the Consumer Culture. first published in France in 1983 as Consciences sous influence - Publicité et genèse de la société de consummation, has been published in a new edition titled La Société de l’indécence, part of the Collection ingénerie sociale from Le retour aux sources. Ewen (Hunter) serves on the doctoral faculty in history and sociology.
