Dr. Chauhan received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia and her BA and BS from University of Florida. Before joining the faculty at John Jay, she completed a predoctoral clinical internship at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Chauhan’s has three broad research interests: (1) examining the role of neighborhoods in creating and sustaining race/ethnic disparities in antisocial behavior, psychopathology, and victimization; (2) assessing the trends in misdemeanor policing and factors that may improve police-community relationships and (3) investigating the influence of co-occurring evaluations of competency to stand trial and mental state at the time of offense on expert opinions.
