Professor Buchsbaum was a participant in the First Festival of Central American Film and Video, Granada, Nicaragua, 1999. Teaching specializations include: Film and the Vietnam War; African Americans in American Film; history and theory of Third Cinema. Research interests include political filmmaking, French cinema, Latin American Cinema, revolutionary cinema in Nicaragua, film theory, film history, GATT and the audiovisual battle between Europe and the U.S.
