The Life of the Mind in the Heart of the City
Students in the MALS program pursue rigorous, cross-disciplinary study in small classes taught by the esteemed faculty of the Graduate Center, CUNY. The program is designed to encourage and support challenging intellectual pursuits that cross conventional academic boundaries, and culminates in the completion of a master's thesis under the guidance of a faculty advisor. MALS tracks of study span the Humanities, Sciences and Social Sciences, and provide the flexibility to go where professional and academic objectives, curiosity, and intellect lead.
MALS students contribute to the engaged and vigorous scholarly community of the Graduate Center, and have at their disposal the vast cultural, intellectual, and scholarly resources of New York City and the entire CUNY system.
