Critical Social/Personality Psychology doctoral students Patrick Sweeney and Kate Sheese presented papers in a symposium on “The materiality of space and affect: A critical social psychological examination of neoliberal globalization, labor migration, and urban conflict” at the International Congress of Critical Social Psychology: Discourse, Materiality, and Politics, which took place in Barcelona, Spain, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, February 6–8, 2013. Sweeney’s presentation was on “Discourse, space, and affect: Socioemotional topographies of justice,” and Sheese’s, “Here: Temporary space and self in women’s transnational labor migration.”
