Description

The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center presents:

A Hungarian Classic Guitar Music Concert by Segal Center International Research Scholar Attila Szabó.

Szabó, from Budapest, Hungary, gives an overview of six hundred years of music by Hungarian composers written for the guitar and the lute: Bakfark, Mertz, Farkas, Rózsa and his own arrangements of Transylvanian folk songs.

The concert will take place before our event with New Dramatist’s Todd London, who will discuss his new  book: An Ideal Theater: Founding Visions for a New American Art (TCG). Todd  London will be joined by a group of artistic directors who forged  their own theatre in New York to discuss the citywide impact of their work. Participants include Oskar Eustis (The Public), Kristin Marting (HERE), Rosalba Rolon (Pregones), Jonathan McCrory, The Movement Theatre Company in Harlem and Mia Yoo (La Mama).

FREE and open to the public.
