About the Site

The Graduate Center's Web Site is a comprehensive compilation of materials from its current official print publications, complemented by other materials prepared expressly for the web site. The principal documents include the Bulletin of The Graduate Center, the Student Handbook, and the admissions prospectus, Doctoral Study. Among other print sources are 365 Fifth (its newsletter) and press releases.

In building this site, the primary goal has been to provide easy access to information about all aspects of The Graduate Center—not only to display its many facets to newcomers but also to provide an online "user's manual" and serve as a communal hub. The site has been planned so that it can evolve and be enhanced with features that will promote its utility. Your suggestions will assist us in maintaining and developing it most effectively. Please share them.

Important Notice of Possible Changes

The City University of New York reserves the right, because of changing conditions, to make modifications of any nature in the academic programs and requirements of the University and its constituent colleges without advance notice. Tuition and fees set forth in this publication are similarly subject to change by the Board of Trustees of The City University of New York. The University regrets any inconvenience this may cause.

General Statement

The Graduate Center's primary Web site comprises all pages on www.gc.cuny.edu. These pages are maintained by the Office of Public Affairs and Publications, and their content includes material from official publications. Should there be any discrepancies between printed and online source, the printed version is considered more authoritative. Queries about such matters should be directed to the Web Site Editor in the Office of Public Affairs and Publications.

The Graduate Center's primary Web site offers numerous links to sites that are maintained by academic programs, research centers, and offices, which are solely responsible for the materials on their sites. Providing a link to a non-www.gc.cuny.edu site should not be construed as endorsing the materials on the target site. Thus, materials on web.gc.cuny.edu or other non-www.gc.cuny.edu Graduate Center servers are the responsibility of the students/faculty, and/or staff of the sponsoring programs/centers/offices. Readers are advised to refer to pages on www.gc.cuny.edu for official admissions information, academic requirements, and other relevant information.

Affirmative Action Statement

The Graduate Center is committed to following the letter and spirit of laws pertaining to affirmative action and of CUNY policies pertaining to the promotion of pluralism and diversity and to combating racism and bigotry. Concerns, questions, and complaints about equal employment and affirmative action may be addressed to any member of The Graduate Center's Affirmative Action Committee or to the Affirmative Action Officer, 1-212-817-7200.
