Application Process
Please print this page for your reference.
Our admissions process is self-managed, which means that you, the applicant, collect your transcripts and letters of recommendation in sealed envelopes and submit all of your documents -- except the GRE, GMAT, and TOEFL scores -- together with your completed application to the Office of Admissions.
| Step 1: |
Download the application in Adobe Acrobat format. You will need Adobe Acrobat reader installed.
All Applicants:
Admissions Application Packet
Includes:
- Instructions for Applying
- Application
- Financial Aid Form
- Transcript Request Forms
- Letter of Recommendation Request Forms
- Acknowledgment of Application Form
- International Student Eligibility Form (Application form for F-1 or J-1 student immigration status)
|
| Step 2: |
Complete the application and send out requests for transcripts, letters of recommendation, and test scores according to the "Instructions for Applying" in the Admissions Packet.
All documents, except for the TOEFL, GMAT, and GRE scores, should be sent directly to you in sealed envelopes with the school stamp or signature of the recommender printed across the back flap of the envelope.
Remember: do not open the envelopes of the documents you receive in the mail! Opened documents will not be considered official.
|
| Step 3: |
Make sure your application is complete and contains:
- Application Form
- Personal Statement
- Application fee (make check or money order out to "The CUNY Graduate Center"). The fee is $125.
- Official Transcripts from ALL post-secondary institutions in unopened envelopes
- Letters of recommendation in unopened envelopes
- Your standardized test scores (i.e. GRE, GMAT, TOEFL) were requested from ETS to be sent to The CUNY Graduate Center (college code 2113)
- Request for Certificate of Eligibility & Declaration of Finances (International applicants, who are applying for F-1 or J-1 student immigration status, only)
|
| Step 4: |
Mail the application and supporting documents along with your check or money order to:
Office of Admissions
The Graduate Center
The City University of New York
365 Fifth Avenue
New York, New York 10016
|
Important Notes:
1) The application and supporting credentials (including the GRE, GMAT, or TOEFL scores) are due in the Office of Admissions by the program's deadline, which is listed below.
2) All applicants to the CUNY Graduate Center must take the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test GMAT for Business applicants and, where applicable, the subject test in the area of intended study.
3) All materials submitted to the Office of Admissions become the property of The Graduate Center. We are unable to return supporting documents to the applicant, and materials will not be reproduced or forwarded elsewhere for application purposes.
4) The application and supporting credentials must be postmarked on or before the following dates.
5) Financial assistance information is available from the Office of Financial Aid. An admissions applicant seeking financial assistance must submit both the admissions and financial forms and supporting documents by the award deadline date.
