The CUNY School of Professional Studies (SPS) offers innovative undergraduate and graduate level courses, certificates and degree programs, including CUNY's first online degree programs. Drawing on CUNY's nationally and internationally renowned faculty and practitioners, SPS offers programs in a wide range of disciplines, including Masters programs in Applied Theatre, Labor Studies and Disability Studies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Reporting to the Academic Director of the Off Campus College program at The CUNY School of Professional Studies, the Off Campus College’s College Assistant/Program Assistant will:
-Provide daytime administrative support, including registration (eSims), data entry (Excel), fielding phone calls, responding to emails.
-Provide academic student advising and coordinate transition from daytime office to evening classes, including welcoming students and faculty, interfacing with other SPS evening staff, responding to student questions, etc.
-Writing internal program communications, including student and faculty newsletters and emails/letters to students, faculty, and alumni
-Provide support to faculty and staff, including preparing, Xeroxing, and filing materials
-Support administrative staff with various tasks, including conducting research and coordinating faculty and course evaluation


Minimum Qualifications:
-High school diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
-BA degree preferred
-Excellent oral and written communication skills preferred
-Higher Ed experience preferred
-Proactive and able to work independently is highly desirable
-Ability to identify and solve problems preferred
-Customer-service skills, including phone calls preferred

Salary Range

$15.00 – 17.00 per hour (dependent upon experience)


20 hours per week (1:30pm – 6:30pm, Monday – Thursday)
