College Assistant

The Office of Communications and Marketing is seeking a part-time College Assistant to assist the office with web content management.  The selected candidate will serve as a front line representative of the Web Content/Design team, interacting with staff from GC offices, programs, centers, and institutes, to update and maintain web content and resolve web-related issues. The position reports to the Web Content Manager.
-Handle web content updates, including posting press releases and news items, updating faculty bios, the GC home page, and other webpages.
-Review web content for accuracy and relevance.
-Staying abreast of GC news to update relevant webpages.
-Train and assist users with the Content Management System, including troubleshooting, documenting step-by-step processes, and resolving users’ issues.
-Migration of existing web content to the GC site.
-Identifying and evaluating issues or possible improvements with the Content Management System or web content process, and creating viable solutions. 
-Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
-High school diploma.
Other Qualifications
The preferred candidate should have:

-Some college strongly preferred.
-Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS.
-Experience creating and maintaining websites.
-Familiarity with Content Management Systems.
-Good planning and organizational skills; attention to detail.
-Strong project management skills.
-Strong writing and editing skills.
-Ability to work independently as well as a member of a project team; customer service experience a plus.
-Familiarity with Photoshop.
-Ability to adhere to established schedules and meet critical deadlines.
-Effective communication skills; proficiency with the English language.
-Flexibility in scheduling is preferred as work may fluctuate.

Salary Range

$16.00 per hour


20 hours per week
