Building Entry Policy

Staff and faculty members who need to enter our building at 365 Fifth Avenue must follow these steps.
1. Watch the “New York State COVID-19 Response: Return to Work Training” video on Blackboard once.

Please use a laptop, desktop, or tablet with a Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser for the best viewing. Compatibility issues with Firefox and Safari have been reported. You will not be able to see the video on a smartphone.

2. Obtain permission from your supervisor (staff) or executive officer (faculty) and notify Public Safety Director John Flaherty ( at least 24 hours in advance.

You will receive an email from John Flaherty approving your campus visit. You must present a copy of this email when entering the building.

3. Take the wellness check survey through the Everbridge Health Screening app any day you plan to come to a CUNY campus or building.
The survey involves five short questions. Graduate Center students, faculty and staff can use the Guide for Instructions on Accessing and Using the App. Those without smartphones can use the Guide for Health Screening by Email. Visitors should use the Visitors' Guide for instructions. Answer the questions carefully as you will not be able to go back and change your responses.
Based on the answers provided, you will receive confirmation within the app or in your email that clears you to enter the building (a green token). If you receive an Access Denied (a red token) response, you will not be permitted to enter the building. You will not be able to retake the Health Screening app until you are cleared to return. In order to be cleared to return to a CUNY location, proof of a negative COVID-19 test result, medical clearance from a physician and/or quarantine will be required.
