Reaffirming Our Commitment to an Inclusive Campus Community
February 23, 2017
Despite the federal rollback of transgender student protections,
the Graduate Center and CUNY are firmly committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe campus environment, which extends to our physical facilities. This priority aligns with New York City law, which prohibits harassment and discrimination on the basis of gender identity, transgender status, or gender dysphoria. An evolving range of strategies and policies, guided by thoughtful consultation with students, faculty, and staff, ensures we are as comprehensive as possible in advancing diversity and inclusiveness.
