Which Graduate Center students can participate?
Graduate Center students presenting their doctoral dissertation defenses in the 2019–2020 academic year in any department.
Will I receive guidance for the presentation?
Students selected will get coaching from Graduate Center faculty on how to frame and present their work in this three-minute public presentation.
Will I get an honorarium for participating?
Each participating student will receive $250. Checks will be mailed after the event to the address provided on your application.
Can I invite my friends and family to attend the May 19 event?
Each presenter will receive two reserved seats to the event. Additional friends and family are welcome to sign up through the public programs events page.
How many students will be selected?
We anticipate selecting around 15 students.
Who will be on the selection committee?
The selection committee will include Graduate Center faculty, staff, and students.
