On April 7, 2016 the Conference of College Composition and Communication (CCCC), bestowed the 2016 Exemplar Award to Sondra Perl, stating:

"The accomplishments Sondra accumulated throughout her long, distinguished career deservedly raise her to receive the highest honor the CCCC bestows […] she has worked as a "scholar, researcher, teacher, writer, faculty development leader, dissertation advisor, mentor, and caring collaborator for so many of us on so many different projects."

With the collective voices of those who have felt her influence and impact--including current and former students and colleagues--this Friday Forum follows Sondra Perl's impressive career at CUNY as well as at the national and international levels.  In celebrating her life work and her retirement in this admittedly abbreviated program of her contributions, we render the rich life of composition/rhetoric studies and the joys of understanding the processes of the "composing mind."
