As part of our focus on climate change this spring, a panel of interdisciplinary experts looks at the effects of global warming on real estate, land use, and inequality in coastal areas, particularly New York City. What are the causes and consequences of flooding, storms, and precipitation events? How are existing inequalities exacerbated, and what can be done about it? Tammy Lewis, professor of earth and environmental sciences at The Graduate Center and Brooklyn College, moderates a panel featuring: Brett Branco, associate professor of earth and environmental sciences at The Graduate Center and Brooklyn College; Kenneth A. Gould, professor of sociology and earth and environmental sciences at The Graduate Center and Brooklyn College; and Naomi Schiller, associate professor of anthropology at The Graduate Center and Brooklyn College.
