It’s a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood:

The Rich Context Project

It is estimated that at least a third of an analyst’s time is spent in actually looking for data rather than it being invested in model development and production, which was a main motivation for the Coleridge Initiative to introduce Rich Context. The goal behind the Rich Context project is to develop an automated search and discovery platform for datasets in which they can identify who has worked with the data beforehand, what methods and code were used, and what results were produced. Our talk will center around the primary goal and foundations that make up Rich Context, as well as some explanation towards our technical approaches including integrations of API to aid in discovery services and metadata exchange, a knowledge graph of known linkages between datasets, research publications, researchers/experts, and projects within the sciences, and a leaderboard competition allowing NLP teams to develop models for detecting dataset usage from research publications to name a few.
