Gurshad Shaheman, a French-Iranian playwright, performer, and translator is one of the most fascinating voices on the French contemporary theater scene today. Join us for the American premiere of Touch Me, where the audience becomes the trigger for a personal solo performance memoir. Since 2012, Shaheman has written, staged and performed in his work. He continues to tour his internationally successful trilogy Pourama Pourama. His latest play Il pourra toujours dire que c’est pour l’amour du proph├Ęte (He can always say that it is for the Love of the Prophet) premiered at the Avignon Festival in 2018. The critic at Les Inrockuptible theatre magazine called this piece the most beautiful show of the 72nd festival. Shaheman was trained at the Regional Acting School of Cannes and Marseille (ERACM). Since July 2019, he has been an associate artist at the Les Tanneurs theater in Brussels, where he will create in April 2020, Silent Disco, a citizen project led with young people breaking away from their families.
