2013 NSF Fellowship Goes to Sociology Doctoral Student

Vadricka Etienne, a second-year doctoral student in sociology, has been selected for a 2013 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship. The title of Etienne's study is "Viens Chez Moi: The Continuance of Ethnic Identification Unto the Third Generation of Haitian Immigrants." Professor Philip Kasinitz is her advisor. The NSF, in its congratulatory notification, noted: "Your selection was based on your outstanding abilities and accomplishments, as well as your potential to contribute to strengthening the vitality of the US science and engineering enterprise."
