Two GC Professors Honored with Henry Wasser Awards

Assistant professors Emilio Gallicchio (GC/Brooklyn, Biochemistry) and Brian Rosa (GC/Queens, Earth and Environmental Sciences and Urban Studies) were named recipients of 2017 Henry Wasser Awards, which recognize outstanding assistant professors throughout CUNY.

Recipients are selected by the CUNY Academy for the Humanities and Sciences, which fosters research and scholarship in CUNY. Gallicchio and Rosa are among seven winners of this year’s awards.

Gallicchio is the author of more than 70 research papers on topics ranging from quantum dynamics to HIV vaccine design. He has developed several theoretical methods and software tools for the modeling of biological and chemical systems.
