Congratulations to Second Language Acquisition Lab members accepted to LSA 2019!

Congratulations to the SLA Lab members who were accepted to present posters and papers at the 2019 Annual Meeting of the Linguistic Society of America! In total, eight submissions from both Master’s and PhD students were accepted: seven poster presentations and one paper presentation. The conference will take place from January 3-6, 2019 at the Sheraton New York Times Square in midtown Manhattan.

Much of the work to be presented comes from an ongoing project examining first-language processing in Spanish-English bilinguals across a range of methodologies, including pupillometry, event-related potentials (ERP), eye-tracking, acceptability judgments, speech recordings, and sociolinguistic surveys. Other accepted research from the SLA Lab examines multilingual language assessment for Mandarin-speaking preschoolers, and the acquisition of English by Italian native speakers.
