Thorfun Gehebe, PhD Student

The Graduate Student Scholarship recognizes master’s and doctoral students in communication sciences and disorders who demonstrate academic achievement and promise. Thorfun Gehebe, a student at CUNY Graduate Center, has recently received this scholarship for her exemplary work while progressing towards her PhD in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences department. Thorfun has a background as a pathologist with clinical experience in child language impairments, speech sound disorders, augmentative alternative communications, fluency disorders, voice disorders, and dysphagia. Her research is in the fields of cross-linguistic studies in developmental language disorders/specific language impairment, cognitive control, and bilingualism.
