Patricia Coleman (Theatre, 2012), whose dissertation was titled “Rhythmic Juggling: Tracing the Disembodied Voice of Richard Foreman’s Ontologic-Hysteric Theatre, 1968–2009,” hosted an evening of demonstrations of Futurist texts, manifestos, and music on February 17 at Jack Sunday in Brooklyn, with the New York Neo-Futurists. Included were F. T. Marinetti’s play Electric Puppets (Sexual Electricity) and Marinetti’s 1909 First Manifesto of Futurism.

David A. Crespy (Theatre, 1998), professor of playwriting and dramatic literature at the University of Missouri–Columbia, authored Richard Barr: The Playwright’s Producer (Southern Illinois University Press, 2013), which includes an introduction by Edward Albee.

Amy E. Hughes (Theatre, 2009), assistant professor of theatre history and criticism, Brooklyn College, authored Spectacles of Reform: Theater and Activism in Nineteenth-Century America (University of Michigan Press, 2012).

Rosemary Malague (Theatre, 2001) published An Actress Prepares: Women and “the Method” (Routledge, 2012). Malague is director of the theatre arts program and a senior lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania.

Henry Miller (Theatre, 2003), a dramatist, stage director, and theatre scholar, is to direct Fraternity by Jeff Stetson at Ebony Repertory Theatre in the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, Los Angeles, May 17 to June 2. Set in a private club in 1987, the play explores the journeys of seven successful black community leaders whose lives were changed by the bombing of an Alabama church shortly after Martin Luther King delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech in Washington on August 28, 1963. The play records how those seeking power and success easily forget those who struggled and often died to make their achievements possible. Miller authored Theorizing Black Theatre: Art Vs. Protest in Critical Writings 1898–1965 (McFarland, 2010).

Jill Stevenson (Theatre, 2006), assistant professor of theatre arts at Marymount Manhattan College, coedited, with Elina Gertsman, Thresholds of Medieval Visual Culture: Liminal Spaces (Boydell Studies in Medieval Art and Architecture) (Boydell Press, 2012), a collection of essays in honor of Pamela Sheingorn (Professor Emerita, Baruch, History, Theatre). Her book Sensational Devotion: Evangelical Performance in Twenty-First-Century America is forthcoming from University of Michigan Press.
