Theatre Alumna Aleandri Wins Brooklyn Women in Business Award

Among the women honored with a “Top Brooklyn Women in Business Networking Award” this year is Graduate Center alumna Dr. Emelise Aleandri (Theatre, 1984), a former resident of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, who is widely known for her work in the field of Italian-American immigrant theatre history. An actress, singer, and theatre and film producer, she is also artistic director of Frizzi & Lazzi the Olde Time Italian-American Music and Theatre Company, which specializes in turn-of-the-century Italian entertainments. The Top Women in Business Networking and Awards evening on June 20, sponsored by the Home Reporter and the Brooklyn Spectator, will celebrate the life work of influential women in business in Brooklyn as well as women whose major achievements and whose participation in community activities throughout the years have helped the borough grow.
