Conventional wisdom is that students need to study STEM courses in order to secure well-paying jobs in the 21st century, but two recent workplace success studies from technology giant Google suggests that well-developed interpersonal skills top the list of the attributes that are present in their best employees. Cathy Davidson, founding director of The Graduate Center, CUNY’s Futures Initiative and an English professor, it quoted, and her book, The New Education: How to Revolutionize the University to Prepare Students for a World in Flux, is mentioned.
