Center for Urban Research is now institutional host of Metropolitics journal

The Center for Urban Research (CUR) at The Graduate Center / CUNY is pleased to announce that it has become the institutional home of, a peer-reviewed online journal of public scholarship about cities and urban politics.

Metropolitics is the U.S.-based sister journal of, founded in 2009 by French academics whose research focuses on the city. The mission of both journals is to publish short-form essays and papers (~1500 words), based on original research, on a time frame that allows academic authors to contribute contemporaneously to public debate and make scholarly work more relevant to a broad readership. With an international network of corresponding editors, Metropolitics and Metropolitiques provide spaces for analysis of and debate about social, cultural and economic politics in cities around the world.
