Leon Levy Center for Biography

Description

Join us for a conversation with Gary Giddins to celebrate two books by former fellows of the Leon Levy Center for Biography. Langdon Hammer, chair of the English Department at Yale, will speak on James Merrill: Life and Art (Knopf), one of the most eagerly-awaited literary biographies in years, which The New Yorker calls an “extraordinary biography” and The New York Times calls “nearly flawless.” Ilan Ehrlich, who was a dissertation fellow and is now assistant professor of history at Bergen Community College, will speak on his political biography Eduardo Chibás: The Incorrigible Man of Cuban Politics (Rowman & Littlefield).
