Visiting Scholars (ARC)

The CUNY Graduate Center’s Advanced Research Collaborative (ARC) partners with the GC’s research centers, institutes, committees, and other academic initiatives to promote interdisciplinary research.
One of ARC’s core programs is the Distinguished Fellows program. Every year, ARC hosts three groups of scholars:
• Scholars and researchers from outside CUNY
• Tenured CUNY faculty
• Graduate Center doctoral students
These scholars are invited to carry out work in five targeted areas of study:
• Inequality
• Immigration
• Multilingualism
• Digital Initiatives
• Urban Studies
Faculty and students associated with the Stone Center assist ARC by reviewing applications proposing research projects focused on inequality. Scholars admitted to ARC’s inequality cluster typically build strong ties, during their time in residence, with the faculty and students in the Stone Center.
