Curriculum - Non-Licensure Track (Post Master's Degree)

The four required courses include AUD 70100: Essentials in Biostatistics, AUD 71600: Physiological Acoustics,
AUD 76500: Audiologic Research Proposal, and AUD 79800: Independent Study Research (3 semesters are required following AUD 76500). The course, AUD 76500, presupposes that your master's degree in Audiology included a graduate course in research methods. For the remaining 24 credits, audiologists must enroll in 8 elective courses (selection of courses is made in consultation with the faculty adviser). Course prerequisites are waived except that AuD 76500 must precede AuD 78000 and AUD 70100 must precede AUD 76500. Courses are offered at the following CUNY campuses: Graduate Center, Brooklyn College, and Hunter College

aStudents are expected to enroll in AUD 79800 for 3 semesters following the semester in which they completed AUD 76500; if the Capstone is not completed after enrolling in 3 semesters of AUD 79800, then they must continue to register in this course until they complete their Capstone project (but these credits in excess of the credits associated with 3 semesters of AUD 79800 towards the Capstone cannot be applied towards the degree).

bAUD 79800 (1-3 cr) can also be taken as an elective topic (1-3 cr) beyond the 3 semesters of independent study if not associated with work on the Capstone project but can be taken only once as an elective.

Other degree requirements for Audiologists who are professionally certified or licensed will include the following:

  • Completion of a Capstone project which includes a written paper, poster presentation, and oral presentation of the poster and paper.


The three required courses include AuD 71600, Physiological Acoustics,
AuD 76500, Audiologic Research Proposal, and AuD 78000, Audiologic Research. The course, AuD 76500, presupposes that you have had a graduate course in research methods. For the remaining 24 credits, audiologists must enroll in 8 elective courses (selection of courses is made in consultation with the faculty adviser).
