Facilities

Clinic

The Speech and Hearing Centers at Brooklyn and Hunter College provide diagnostic, rehabilitative, and preventive services for children and adults with speech, language, and hearing disorders.

Each Center provides a host of audiologic services which includes complete audiological evaluations, audiologic rehabilitation and electrophysiologic assessments. The dispensing of hearing aids is provided at the Brooklyn College Center and auditory processing disorders assessment is provided at the Hunter College Center.  Preventive services are offered at both facilities. Each clinic has sound-treated test suites, behavioral audiologic test equipment, acoustic immittance measurement equipment, digital amplification technology including a real-ear probe tube microphone system, otoacoustic emissions equipment, auditory evoked potentials measurement system, and hearing aid dispensary or laboratory including digital amplification technology and assistive listening devices.

The Graduate Center Hearing Laboratory houses behavioral audiologic test instrumentation, acoustic immittance measurement instrumentation, digital amplification technology including a real-ear probe tube microphone measurement system, hearing assistive technology, and an earmold laboratory.

All audiologic services are provided under the direct supervision of audiologists licensed by the New York State Department of Education and certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).
