Hauber Chosen as Fellow of American Ornithological Union
Professor Mark Hauber (Hunter, Biology, Psychology) was recently elected a Fellow of the American Ornithological Union, whose mission is to advance the scientific understanding of birds, to enrich ornithology as a profession, and to promote a rigorous scientific basis for the conservation of birds. Hauber’s grant-supported research focuses on the evolution of recognition systems. He studies the social and genetic consequences of species recognition in avian brood parasitic birds, such as cuckoos and cowbirds, as the model system for his work.
