Dissertation Title: Blurring the "Bright Line": Examining age-related differences in jail incarceration outcomes using a resources-challenges model of emerging adulthood

Student Bio: Olive is a Doctoral Candidate in the Criminal Justice program at the CUNY Graduate Center. Her research focuses mainly on incarcerated populations including women and young people – her dissertation looks at age differences in pretrial outcomes of people detained on Rikers Island. She was previously an Applied Justice Research Fellow at the Vera Institute of Justice where she helped launch the In Our Backyards Project. Olive hails from Auckland, New Zealand and holds a B.A. in Psychology from New York University, as well as an M.S. in Criminology from the University of Pennsylvania.
