Programs in Linguistics at The Graduate Center, CUNY offer students a wide-ranging curriculum, from introductory courses on theories of grammar to advanced seminars on bilingualism and articulatory phonetics.
The Ph.D. in Linguistics aims to train students for careers in research and teaching in theoretical or applied linguistics. Ph.D. candidates master the discipline of linguistics in its broadest sense, acquire knowledge of a specialized area, and carry out independent research
The M.A. degree is available in General Linguistics and Computational Linguistics.
Students in the Linguistics Ph.D. and M.A. programs are encouraged to explore research opportunities in initiatives led by members of Linguistics program faculty.
