Susan Apold PhD, ANP-BC, GNP, FAAN, FAANP
Susan Apold is the CEO of Apold Leadership Education, where she provides leadership education and consultation and consultation on the formation of new collegiate nursing programs. She is the Founding Dean of Nursing of the Concordia College Nursing program, and formerly a Clinical Professor of Nursing at the Rory Meyers School of Nursing at New York University College of Nursing. She has also served as Dean of Nursing and the Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the College of Mount Saint Vincent. Dr. Apold served twice as President of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Nurse Practitioner Association of New York. She is currently the President-Elect of the newly formed nursing leadership organization, NurseTRUST. She has published in the area of nursing advocacy and nurse practitioner scope of practice and is a staunch supporter of the nurses’ role as leaders at the bedside and in the boardrooms across the nation. Dr. Apold maintains a private practice in Adult Health in New Rochelle, NY.
Dr. Apold is a Fellow of the both American Academy of Nursing and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is an alumna of the Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellows program.

Non-pharmacologic intervention for behavioral management in patients with dementia

NP regulatory issues
The Graduate Center Nursing Doctorate Alumni Association (GCNDAA) serves as a liaison between graduates and maintains professional and social contacts among the alumni, faculty and student body. The GCNDAA encourages professional growth of students and alumni, through events such as our annual research day, and promotes scholarship of alumni, particularly publications, presentations and grant writing.

The Keville Frederickson Nursing Doctoral Scholarship Fund has been set up to provide for professional development activities, dissertation research and writing support to our current and future scholars.
The Program is the first publicly funded PhD Nursing Program at the Graduate Center. Since we began in 2006, we have graduated over 40 nurses with doctoral degrees. Our graduates compose the vanguard of doctorally prepared nurses who will provide decisive solutions to the current healthcare issues.
