Critical Social/Personality Psychology

Critical Social/Personality Psychology has grown out of a long tradition of locally, critically, and politically engaged scholarship – a tradition embedded in the storied history of social psychology as social action, and in the activist ethos of New York City. We are a community of scholars whose work is rooted in a multiplicity of epistemological discourses, methodological tools, and interdisciplinary membranes that nourish human agency and ethical action. We seek applicants who bring the gifts of various forms of diversity to our program: intellectual, transnational, racial, ethnic, gender, sexuality, linguistic, economic, experiential, immigration status and (dis)ability.
